This website is dedicated to the village of Polperro, Cornwll, England. Situated on the South Cornwall coast between Looe and Fowey. Contained within these pages you will find information and images that serve as a portrait of this delightful harbour. A place steeped in history, where tales of smuggling and hardship against the sea are brought to life. A wonderful place to visit and a great place to stay.

In the Polperro pages you will find a brief article about the harbour, it's location, and it's heritage and an emotive video using photos taken from the Polperro photo gallery.

Polperro harbour

The photos of Polperro found in the gallery have been taken over a number of years. The eagle eyed may find things that have changed, but essentially this is my portrait of a great location. I hope it can serve as a fairly comprehensive source of inspiration and encourage you to visit, or invoke great memories if you have already been.

  • Setting the Scene: Some longish shot pictures of Polperro setting it in it's location.
  • Polperro harbour: Images in long shot and close up. Photographs of the harbour, it's boats, the surrounding cottages and the details of a working port.
  • Polperro rooftops: Glimpses of Polperro seen from the hill side or adjacent roof tops, a great roofscape often overlooked on the casual vist.
  • The Lanes of Polperro: Photographs of the narrow streets and passageways that crowd in on the harbour at the centre of the village.
